Welcome to Cider NZ
New Zealand’s climate, in particular it’s bright, long summers, grows apples famous around the world for quality. It is from these apples that an increasingly wide range of distinctive New Zealand ciders is being created.
The majority of contemporary New Zealand ciders draw on extensive orchards in Nelson, Hawke's Bay and elsewhere. They are clean, crisp, refreshing ciders made in a lighter more fruit-driven style. |
Nz cider awards
The NZ Fruit Wine and Cider Awards have been held annually since 1984 but due to the recent phenomenal growth of the Cider industry the NZ Cider Awards have been held independently since 2015. The Awards aim to recognize the high quality of Cider produced in New Zealand as well as the growing range of styles available.

THE NZ CIDER FESTIVAL
Cider NZ recognized the demand to showcase the quality and range of cider made in New Zealand and, with the knowledge and can-do attitude of Nelson Venues, the first ever NZ Cider Festival was celebrated in 2016.

As a growing and ever evolving industry it can be hard to define each different style of cider and explain the differences
